RULES AND REGULATIONS

Traditional FORMS

Judges will assess concentration, balance, smoothness, strength, inner spirit, and overall execution.

Team FORMS

Teams must consist of 3 - 5 members. Judging criteria includes timing, symmetry, balance, fluidity, power, spirit, and complete performance.

Freestyle Forms

Freestyle hand forms are student-created and not part of the standard curriculum. Scoring is based on execution, focus, balance, grace, power, and presentation.

Traditional WEAPON FORMS

These weapon forms follow the curriculum at your academy or belt level. Criteria include concentration, stability, fluency, strength, and overall display.

Freestyle WEAPON FORMS

Students generate original weapon forms outside the curriculum. Judges look for execution, concentration, balance, grace, speed, power, and comprehensive performance.

Board Breaking

Competitors break boards according to their age and belt division:

  • Beginner: White - Blue belt

  • Intermediate: Senior Blue - Sr. Dan Bo

  • Advanced: Black belt

Board sizes: Level 1 (small), Level 2 (medium), Level 3 (large).

A maximum of three boards per technique is permitted.

Beginners do one breaking technique; intermediates, two; advanced, three.
